Android Podcast application?
April 12, 2010I am trying to find a convenient and simple podcast reader. I am used to simplicity of iTunes podcasts and I am looking for something that will automatically download new episodes.
I initially tried MyPodcast. I seems that it is very, very powerful, but I was not able to use it due to its complexity. Developer tried to make it more user friendly, by adding help screens before many screens, but it didn’t help. What is missing is logical flow of operations. You probably have to several places in different menus to do several things that are needed to download and listen to an episode. It can probably do may things that other podcast applications cannot. For example, it can play two tracks at the same time – so you can listen to some music and podcast at the same time, but mere mortals like me cannot comprehend it. Maybe wit some video tutorial, but I am not sure that you can record it on Android.
I am now testing bPod. It is much easier. You just enter the address of of podcast and you get a list of episodes to download. When listening it initiates standard Android’s Music player. This makes player forget which music were you listening and vice versa. I have mixes filings about it.
What do you use? What else should I try?
Hello world!
April 5, 2010Couple of weeks ago I got Nexus One. I live in Canada and none of the mobile providers were selling it. Google initially started to sell it in USA only, so I asked a friend that lives there to buy one and send it to me. A week later Google started selling it directly.
This is my first Android phone and I am still learning the ropes. I would like to use this blog to share my expiriences and learn something interacting with readers as well. Therefore, do not be shy to leave comments and/or email me directly.
